Amazon Payment Options
Just some information sharing for those residing in Asia just like me in Singapore where Amazon is unable to do a direct deposit to the bank account. When you go under Your Payment Method, Amazon offers 3 options for the payment. In my case, direct deposit definitely is not for me as I do not have any bank accounts in Europe and the US.
I am also not interested in the gift card payment method as well therefore I have selected the Pay me by check option. There is a minimum amount of $100 USD in order for Amazon to send you a check.
Hopefully, in near future, Amazon will make the Singapore bank account available as well for the direct deposit option.
How long will it take to receive a check from Amazon?
For me, it took slightly more than 2 weeks, 16 days to be exact to receive the check from Amazon. I received the Monthly report for Amazon.com for December 2020 on 28 Feb 2021. And I received the check on 16 March 2021.
How long will it take to process Amazon Check?
I did a check for my local bank, DBS. It will take at least a minimum of 21 working days to process the check/cheque. In total, it will take at least 5-6 weeks to complete the whole process from the day Amazon started to issue the cheque. For my first paycheck experience, the bank took exactly 21 working days. So I received the amount in my bank account around 26 April.
In addition, there will be an additional charge to process. More info can be found here for DBS. This of course will impact my earnings as well since I have to bear this additional cost.
